I found that MyVestaCP has installed Fail2ban on my server. Is there any way to block IP addresses using Fail2ban in MyVestaCP?

It is straightforward to ban an IP address in the MyVestaCP control panel.

Here are the steps:

  • Log into the MyVestaCP control panel using admin credentials.
  • On the top menu, click the link for the "Firewall".
  • On the "Firewall" page, click on the "LIST FAIL2BAN" link and then click on the "BAN IP ADDRESS" button.
  • Now select "WEB" from the top-down menu for "Banlist" and add the IP address you want to ban in the textbox under "IP address (CIDR format is supported)".
  • Click on the "Add" button to ban the IP address.

Now your webpages will not be attacked from the banned IP address.
